Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) applies the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system towards application of information technology in operations Update: 11-04-2019
DOST has just issued a plan to apply the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system towards application of the existing IT software in science and technology activities.

The plan was issued to apply the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system to solve DOST’s workload scientifically; comply with legal regulations and DOST’s operational regulations; assist DOST’s director to manage and control the entire process of dealing with DOST’s workload; provide data for improvement and gradual enhancement of the quality and efficiency of the State management and public services; satisfy customers; and meet legal requirements and  others for administrative procedure reform.

Accordingly, all the civil servants of DOST will apply the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system towards application of the existing IT software; regularly review, modify and promptly admend legal regulations on the work settlement process in accordance with actual situations.

 

As planned, up to now the centers and divisions at DOST have developed the plan to apply the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system; established an ISO Steering Committee; set out quality objectives and measures to complete the quality targets in 2019; and built quality targets, taken implementation measures, and announced a list of targets based on the quality objectives that are set out for the entire DOST and its centers and divisions.

 

The Office of DOST is expected to develop quality manuals and attached forms, and units will conduct a review, and make adjustment and amendments to the corresponding process as replacement, revised or added documents are issued.

 

Also, the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances will offer training courses to help increase the awareness of how to apply the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system in the coming time. In order to carry out the  plans of introducing and applying the ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system, the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances will make its internal assessment and do corrections after evaluation, and invite the certification team to  review and assess the system after centers and divisions apply the ISO quality management system and disseminate documents.

 

In 2018, the specialists of DAS (Direct Assesstment Services), the leading prestigious international certification organization of the UK, which is recognized by UKAS and whose operations are recognized by Vietnam General Department of Standards, Metrology, and Quality, made some assessment and re-certified that DOST’s information security system is in accordance with its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 based standards.

 


The activities of the Center for Application of Scientific and Technological Advances are carried out in accordance with the TCVN ISO process.

 

DAS’s specialists made an assessment of the key information systems under DOST’s management including access control, internal organization, physical and environmental security, and information security in the process of information exchange, administration, general asset management, and so on.

 

According to the assessment program, the chief assessor Nguyen Duy Hung emphasized that the assessment of the information security management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standards at DOST’s centers and divisions showed that the leadership of DOST as well as its units had paid attention to maintaining the information security system in accordance with ISO/IEC standards with a responsible information security team; that the application of the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 based information security management activities affirmed

DOST’s determination to improve the information security for the key systems of the information assets under its management and to start corrections at DOST’s centers and divisions based on the weaknesses indicated in the assessment process.

 

Based on DOST’s achievements in the process of building and applying the ISO quality management system in the past years, it will continue to develop and issue plans to apply the TCVN ISO 9001:2015 based quality management system towards of application of the existing IT software to managerial and operational activities as well as professional activities at DOST’s centers and divisions.

 

In order to improve the application of the ISO quality management system, in the coming time the ISO Steering Committee will urge DOST’s centers and divisions to carry out plans and all the units will closely coordinate in the implementation of the contents of plans, monitor, and assess the application of the contents related to the implementation of the ISO quality management system.
